Candice Chung
Financial Advisor
Candice Chung is the Financial Advisor AI4ALL, where she advises on the finance function.
Prior to joining AI4ALL, Candice served as Senior Director, Grants Management at the KIPP Foundation. There, she managed federal and private grants funding the development of new schools and supporting training programs for school leaders in educationally underserved communities.
Candice is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a B.S. in Commerce, with a concentration in Accounting, from the University of Virginia.
Wendy DiPietro Gordon
Executive Assistant
Wendy is AI4ALL’s Executive Administrator where she supports the CEO, Emily Reid, and of course, the rest of the AI4ALL family when needed.
Prior to joining AI4ALL, Wendy worked as a Sr. Executive Assistant at Intel, and more recently Futuro Health.
Coming from England she was more used to diversity than she found in the US. Working for AI4ALL means that she can support those striving for equity and justice for at-risk populations and encouraging a diverse AI.
When not at AI4ALL she can be found on her land outside of Austin, Texas with her husband, 2 daughters, 5 dogs and 2 horses.
Dr. Jon Doane
Curriculum & Instruction Manager
Jon Doane is a distinguished AI specialist whose robust expertise enriches his role as the Curriculum & Instruction Manager at AI4ALL. Previously, Jon served as an Instructor for Discover AI and a Workshop Presenter for Apply AI, both integral pillars of the AI4ALL community. In these roles, he adeptly guided aspiring individuals in mapping their career paths within the AI landscape. Dedicated to nurturing diversity and inclusivity, he concurrently advocates for ethical paradigms in the conception, implementation, and utilization of AI innovations.
This journey reflects his own academic trajectory, as he earned his B.A./M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. in Mathematics, followed by a burgeoning fascination with AI applications. His path took him from SUNY Potsdam and Syracuse University to Binghamton University before joining AI4ALL.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Jon is an accomplished Adirondack Forty-Sixer, showcasing his passion for outdoor challenges. Drawing parallels between mountainous feats and technological endeavors, he finds inspiration in both realms. When not scaling new heights, Jon cherishes time spent with his family. As a devoted parent, he focuses on instilling positive values and a love for education in his children, contributing to the next generation’s growth and potential.
Dominique Dominguez
Director, People & Culture
Pronouns: She/Her/They/Them
Born and raised in East Oakland, CA, daughter to a first-generation Mexican immigrant family, DD has first-hand experience of the challenges and inequities within the education system. Through mentorship and exposure to creating political street art, her passion for education was reignited. DD graduated from Mills College with a degree in Ethnic Studies, focused on Community Organizing & Social Justice.
DD brings a wide range of skills acquired through a diverse background in both nonprofit and for-profit sectors, with ample experience building and streamlining processes in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and affinity programs. As a self-starter inspired by environmental and social justice, she sees the value of investing in individuals and providing meaningful support to improve the employee experience by lifting up diverse team experiences, creativity, and belonging. DD is dedicated to cultivating a human-centered approach through a race equity lens in all aspects of her Talent work and is enthusiastic about leveraging AI4ALL’s values to strengthen that commitment.
In her free time, you can find DD with her partner Chris and their dog Ruby driving along the California coast looking for surf and dog-friendly beaches or exploring new hiking trails.
Nicole Halmi
Director, Strategic Initiatives
Nicole Halmi is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at AI4ALL, where she works to make artificial intelligence more diverse and inclusive and to ensure that AI is developed responsibly. Before AI4ALL, she was an early team member at Neon Labs. At Neon, Nicole led communications and marketing and additionally managed the development of AI-powered, patented video publishing products. Before Neon, Nicole worked with underresourced young adults with developmental disabilities, supporting them to find meaningful work. Nicole received an A.B. from Brown University in Modern Culture and Media, where she focused on language and translation in the broader context of modern cultural and social formations. She has spoken about the need for diverse perspectives in AI at venues including Teen Vogue Summit, AWS ImagineEDU, and the IBM Executive Forum for Senior Education Leadership.
Brittany Hollis
Program Manager
Brittany Hollis is the Program Manager for AI4ALL. Previously, she served as an Instructor for Talent Edge where she supported AI4ALL students in developing career readiness knowledge and skills. She is passionate about championing marginalized voices in the tech sphere, advocating for greater inclusivity, and forging pathways to AI and technological fields.
Brittany received her Master’s of Education in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a background in teaching, STEM education, career coaching, higher education, career services, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Prior to joining AI4ALL, Brittany worked as an Independent Contractor for a number of organizations providing career services such as personalized career coaching, career readiness instruction, and support in the design, development, and implementation of career services delivery models. Before taking on contract work, Brittany worked in higher education at Northern Virginia Community College within the college’s Information and Engineering Technology division. During her time there, Brittany assisted students in identifying career pathways, built connections with employer partners, spearheaded career readiness programming, and implemented the college’s first Career and Leadership Readiness Institute.
Brittany loves all things crafting and DIY and in her free time she enjoys taking on new creative projects when she’s not hanging out with loved ones.
Hannah Nance
Strategic Development Advisor
Hannah Nance’s career includes extensive experience in both corporate and nonprofit sectors. She is currently supporting AI4ALL as Strategic Development Advisor.
Most recently, Hannah was Apple’s head of Business Development for Student ID in Apple Wallet, managing strategic technology and higher education partners in implementing the product across 100+ campuses. Hannah also spent time at American Express, where she managed relationships with key merchants who represented nearly $2B in annual charge volume, and at Brooks Brothers, where she ran corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives including cause-marketing campaigns and employee engagement programs.
Hannah’s nonprofit experience includes spearheading corporate business development for Girls Who Code, where she raised over $9M in two years. Hannah developed the flagship sponsorship strategy and secured first-time support from automotive, pharmaceutical, aviation, private equity, and venture capital partners. During earlier work with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, she designed a successful funding model for corporate museum membership. Hannah’s board experience includes The Pink Agenda, a nonprofit committed to raising awareness and resources for breast cancer research among young professionals. Hannah holds an MBA from Fordham University, and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from The King’s College.
Dr. Sean Peters
VP, Programs and Operations
Sean Peters is an engineer, educator, and entrepreneur with experience in inclusive program design and program management. Currently, Sean serves as VP of Programs and Operations, overseeing the functions of the Program Management, Recruitment Partnerships, People & Culture, and Operations. Previously, he served as the Director of College Pathways, where Sean led AI4ALL’s partnerships and programming strategies for attracting new college-level students to AI and supporting them as they continue their academic path in AI.
Prior to joining AI4ALL, Sean worked at the Center for Technology and School Change (CTSC) at Teachers College, Columbia University. There he trained and engaged teachers and administrators as designers of authentic, rigorous, standards-aligned transdisciplinary STEM learning experiences with meaningful technology integration.
Sean earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. Sean’s contribution to the field through his doctoral research focused on mitigating the impact of cyber attacks by defining a metric of privacy using Information Theory and designing an anonymously distributed communication protocol for cloud-based entities.
Sean is also the founder of My Body, My Kitchen, an online community devoted to empowering its members with the tools to take control of their wellness and fitness.
Emily Reid
Chief Executive Officer
Emily is a dynamic leader in AI education and responsible AI, dedicated to promoting diversity and responsible AI frameworks in the tech industry. As the CEO of AI4ALL, she is democratizing pathways to AI careers and creating opportunities for historically excluded AI Changemakers. Emily is passionate about making AI work for humans, and believes that AI should be created by an ethics-informed, representative workforce. With a fresh perspective and a focus on impact and responsible AI, she is leading the charge to cultivate a new generation of AI Changemakers who will steer AI in the right direction.
Previously, Emily was the VP of Open Learning at AI4ALL, a program that brought AI education to more than 4,000 students in over 850 classrooms in 48 states and the District of Columbia. Emily was also the founding Director of Education at Girls Who Code, leading a team that taught over 30,000 girls to code and trained over 2,000 computer science educators. Before Girls Who Code, Emily was a Senior Cyber Security Engineer at the MITRE Corporation and has published research in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Emily holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University and a B.S. in Mathematics from Tufts University.
Alvaro Rojas-Caamano
Senior Manager, Recruitment & Partnerships
Alvaro Rojas-Caamano is the Senior Manager of Recruitment & Partnerships at AI4ALL.
Alvaro develops and implements AI4ALL’s recruitment partnership strategy employing a DEIB lens to attract and engage AI4ALL’s audiences. The responsibility includes the execution of recruitment partnership goals, new partnership development, nurturing existing relationships with higher education institutions, and defining how partnership engagement evolves over time.
In addition, Alvaro plans the strategy and oversees the process of admissions and recruitment for AI4ALL programs with the goal of enrolling a high number of students that are considered to be historically excluded from the AI industry.
Prior to joining AI4ALL, Alvaro has worked in higher education since 2003 in numerous roles including positions in student affairs, education program development & implementation, partnerships, international education and event management. In his last role, Alvaro worked at Columbia University’s engineering school, where he oversaw the student engagement programming for over 2,000 graduate students – from their onboarding to graduation.
Alvaro believes that cultivating a more inclusive space in AI will become increasingly important as the industry and its technology evolve. He hopes to contribute to facilitating a more empathic dialogue between industry leaders and the greater community of how new and emerging technologies can impact at-risk populations.
Alvaro is interested in connecting and cultivating relationships with individuals employed at organizations serving college students or potential professionals employed at academic institutions about how to promote AI4ALL’s no-cost and life changing programs to undergraduate students.
Thalea Torres
Senior Manager, Programs & Impact Evaluation
Thalea Torres is the Senior Manager of Programs & Impact Evaluation at AI4ALL. She is passionate about working towards equity and justice for marginalized groups, and believes that AI and tech are areas for incredible social impact.
Thalea received her Master’s of Science in Social Work from Columbia University with a focus and minor in public policy. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a background in youth development, direct practice, program management and development, research, and policy analysis. She has worked with a variety of populations including high school health education and workforce, foster youth and families, adults and children with disabilities, and English language learners abroad. Most recently she served as a Research Fellow for SAFElab, Columbia Population Research Center at Columbia University, where she collaborated with MIT and youth at the Brownsville Community Justice Center to create an immersive simulation training intervention for social media surveillance practices.
Thalea also loves fitness, superhero movies, and identifying every bakery within a 10-mile radius.

Dr. Fei-Fei Li
AI4ALL Co-founder and Board, Stanford University
Dr. Fei-Fei Li is the inaugural Sequoia Professor in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University, Co-Director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Initiative, Co-Director and Co-PI at the Stanford Vision and Learning Lab. Dr. Li’s main research areas are in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and cognitive and computational neuroscience. She has published more than 200 scientific articles in top-tier journals and conferences, including Nature, PNAS, Journal of Neuroscience, CVPR, ICCV, NIPS, ECCV, IJCV, IEEE-PAMI, ICRA, New England Journal of Medicine, etc. She is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and has received numerable recognition and awards for her scientific work and leadership in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Li obtained her B.A. degree in physics from Princeton in 1999 with High Honors and her PhD degree in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 2005. She is a co-founder and board member of AI4ALL.
Dr. Olga Russakovsky
AI4ALL Co-founder and Board, Princeton University
Dr. Olga Russakovsky is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Princeton University. Her research is in computer vision, closely integrated with the fields of machine learning, human-computer interaction and fairness, accountability and transparency. She has been awarded the PAMI Young Researcher Award, the NSF CAREER award, the AnitaB.org’s Emerging Leader Abie Award in honor of Denice Denton, the CRA-WP Anita Borg Early Career Award, the MIT Technology Review’s 35-under-35 Innovator award, the PAMI Everingham Prize and the Foreign Policy Magazine’s 100 Leading Global Thinkers award. In addition to her research, she co-founded and serves as Board Chair of the AI4ALL nonprofit dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in Artificial Intelligence (AI). She completed her PhD at Stanford University and her postdoctoral fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Rick Sommer

Dr. Rick Sommer is Executive Director of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies, and Lecturer in Mathematics and Philosophy at Stanford University. He received his doctoral degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990, and then joined the Stanford Department of Mathematics as Gabor Szego Assistant Professor. In 1995, he helped launch
the Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC) for which he continues to serve as Director and Lecturer. In 1996, Dr. Sommer began developing online courses for Stanford’s Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY), using innovative technology to provide gifted and talented students unique educational opportunities worldwide. Dr. Sommer is a co-founder and board member of AI4ALL.
James Beck
AI4ALL Board, At One Ventures
James Beck is COO, CFO, and Partner at At One Ventures. James’ leadership qualities, problem-solving skills, and management expertise ensures success to execute his responsibilities at At One Ventures and beyond. He thrives when faced with the challenges of investing and navigating through an ever-changing business world. Building deep, long-lasting relationships and aligning multiple interests are two of his essential abilities. As a well-respected voice in the venture capital community with a unique background, he offers a valuable and rare perspective toward developing solutions to difficult problems in a variety of situations.
James enjoys being part of a world-class organization that constantly strives to evolve and transform. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer of NewView Capital. Before that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Mayfield, a long-standing early-stage venture fund in Menlo Park, California. Before that, he was an audit manager for Arthur Andersen where his clients consisted of various Silicon Valley technology and service organizations. James is actively involved with the NVCA’s CFO Taskforce and the COO Forum. For 14 years, he served as a member of the board of trustees, treasurer, and corporate secretary with AnitaB.org – a nonprofit organization focused on the advancement of women in technology. James attended the Executive Program at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and holds a BS in Business from the University of the Pacific. He is a certified public accountant, certified management accountant, and chartered global management accountant.
Rab Govil
AI4ALL Board, NAEHAS
Rab Govil is one of the founding directors of AI4ALL and has been successful as an investor and founder in various SaaS companies. He currently serves as the CEO of Naehas, Executive Director of Zenarate, and runs an incubator focused on SaaS startups. He holds an MS in Computational Imaging from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he was a President’s Scholar.
Dami Osunsanya
AI4ALL Board, formerly SoftBank Group
Dami Osunsanya is formerly Partner, Co-Head of the $100m Softbank Opportunity Fund, an early and mid growth stage vehicle for consumer tech, AI, and b2b software companies led by diverse founders. In her role she helped oversee 80+ tech companies and CEOs, sitting on numerous company boards. Prior to this role she was a Vice President on the Softbank Vision Fund, where she helped investments in companies as ARM, Uber, and DoorDash, grow and scale. Dami serves as an advisor to various funds and founders.
Tess Posner
AI4ALL Board, Former AI4ALL CEO, Musician
Tess Posner is an award-winning social entrepreneur, artist and musician focused on inclusion, equity and empowerment. Tess served as founding CEO of AI4ALL from 2017 through 2021 and grew it to over 20 AI education partner sites and to become an award-winning and internationally recognized organization. Tess currently serves as a Board member and strategic advisor to AI4ALL. Prior to AI4ALL, she was Managing Director of TechHire at Opportunity@Work, a national initiative launched out of the White House to increase diversity in the tech economy. Prior to Opportunity@Work, Tess built and led Samaschool, an educational initiative to build technical skills and confidence for the future of work that she scaled across the US and internationally.
Tess is also a music artist with a mission to bring healing, empowerment, and social change through her music. Her song “Supernova” is an anthem to survivors of sexual assault, and “Black Cloud” off her newest album speaks to people going through depression and trauma. Tess has collaborated with multi-platinum, award winning producer and songwriter Rob Wells on her new EP released in 2023 and her past projects have clocked millions of streams on Spotify. Her single “New Angels” garnered a spot as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.

Dr. Telle Whitney
AI4ALL Board, formerly AnitaB.org
Telle Whitney is a senior executive leader, a recognized expert on diversity, and a true pioneer on the issue of women in technology. She has over 20 years of leadership experience, is a frequent speaker on diversity topics, and was named one of Fast Company’s Most Influential Women in Technology.
Telle served as CEO of the Anita Borg Institute from 2002 to September 2017, and co-founded the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference with Anita Borg in 1994. She transformed the Institute into a recognized world leader for women and technology.
The Grace Hopper Celebration–which attracted 500 attendees in 1994–has grown exponentially and was attended by over 18,000 women in 2017. In addition, the organization now partners with 70+ technology firms, including many of the world’s most recognized brands.
Prior to joining the Anita Borg Institute, Telle was VP of Engineering for Malleable Technologies, a start-up tech firm, where she led the creation and scale-up of the company’s engineering function and turned the founder’s initial idea into a reality.
Telle has been called “a pioneer for the promotion of women technologists” and “one of the most inspirational leaders I have ever known.” She has won numerous awards including the ACM distinguished service award and an honorary degree from CMU. She serves on multiple boards and advisory councils and frequently speaks on diversity topics. She is also the co-founder of the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT).
Telle holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Utah.
