Rebecca Battat is an educator, program leader, and computer scientist with over a decade of experience in expanding access to computer science and AI education. As Instruction Manager for AI4ALL, she supports a team of instructors and student coordinators to deliver inclusive, impactful AI learning experience for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Rebecca holds a Master’s in Computer Science with a focus in Artificial Intelligence from the City College of New York and a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Barnard College of Columbia University. Her journey into CS began unexpectedly in college when an encouraging mentor sparked her passion for the subject. Since then, she has dedicated her career to helping others, particularly women, minorities, low-income, and first-generation students, see themselves in tech.

She spent nine years at the High School of Language and Innovation in the Bronx, where she launched the school’s first computer science department and brought AI concepts into her classroom. She also served as Math Department Chair and Model Teacher, facilitating professional development for educators and leading initiatives to improve instructional quality and student engagement.

Before joining AI4ALL, Rebecca held leadership roles at mission-aligned organizations such as Edlyft and Coding with Kids. At Edlyft, she designed technical interview prep and mentorship programs, trained instructors and engineers, and supported over 1,400 students in preparing for tech careers. At Coding with Kids, she managed a global team of more than 200 instructors and support staff, overseeing operations that served thousands of K-12 students.

A passionate advocate for equity in tech, Rebecca brings deep experience in curriculum design, instructional coaching, and scaling inclusive educational programs. She is excited to help shape the future of AI education by empowering the next generation of diverse talent.

Outside of work, Rebecca loves to read, travel, dance, and spend time with her family. She studied and taught dance styles from around the world, including West African, Bhangra, Bharatanatyam, bachata, and modern, and values the way dance connects people across cultures.
