Dami Osunsanya is an investor, strategic leader, angel investor, LP, advisor, and passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
She has a proven track record of identifying and investing in high growth startups leveraging technology to fuel the future.She leverages her expertise to help her founders in the build technology companies, while carefully sourcing deals, providing strategic guidance and mentorship, and helping them grow into successful and sustainable businesses.
She’s driven by an intrinsic interest in technology and AI as well as an innate financial acumen and ability to create trustworthy, lasting bonds. This combined with her natural ambition to close the gaps in the industry have led to her work with various funds.
Most recently she led various initiatives at SoftBank – first, starting on the $100B Vision Fund as an operating group Vice President. She later founded and served on the investment committee of the Emerge Fund, Softbank’s first early stage vehicle, and was Co-Head and Partner on the SoftBank Opportunity Fund, leading to investments in over 100 software companies valued at upwards of $10 billion dollars.
Prior to joining SoftBank, Dami helped lead Intel’s $75B Corporate Finance and Strategy team, and led 5an extensive fulfillment operation with more than 100 employees, filling 15,000 orders a day at McMaster-Carr. She’s also led operations and finance teams at Sprint Corporation and Kraft Foods.
Dami’s insights on leadership and investing have been featured in Forbes, Essence, Tech Crunch, Business Insider, and Refresh Miami. Dami is a frequent speaker and thought leader and has spoken at Essence, Fortune, and CES. Recently she’s been recognized by numerous organizations, including being named to Venture Capital Journal’s 40 Rising Stars Under 40 list.
She served on the boards of Heru and WelcomeTech as well as AI4ALL, and has also been appointed by Miami Mayor Francis to serve on the Venture Miami Scholarship Advisory Board.
