We’re thrilled to announce that our co-founder, Dr. Olga Russakovsky, has been named as one of MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators Under 35 for 2017. Olga, an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Princeton University, is recognized in the Inventor category for her work developing a method to efficiently label images with their contents at a large scale. This method was crucial in the creation of ImageNet — an image dataset that has transformed the field of AI in part by encouraging a change in thinking about the importance of large and varied datasets.
In addition to recognition for her technical contributions to AI, Olga is also being recognized for her work to shift the perceptions and makeup of the AI field. As the co-founder of AI4ALL, Olga is working to make the field of AI more diverse and inclusive by introducing underrepresented K-12 students to AI and AI’s power to address social and human challenges.
